The Black Cedar Trio would like to thank its supporters who generously donated at the trio’s annual fundraiser in May 2019. This support has enabled the trio to bring their 2019 Concert Tour to the clients at the Arc of the East Bay in September 2019.

Kris Palmer receives the Bob Perrotti Volunteer of the Year Award from the Arc of Alameda County.
For over five years, Kris Palmer and Black Cedar have performed free concerts for adults with developmental disabilities on the campuses of the Arc of Alameda County, bringing chamber music to over 2,000 clients and staff and serving a population that rarely has the resources or the opportunities to take part in the fine arts.

Black Cedar’s Free Concerts at the Arc of Alameda County
Over the past five years, Black Cedar has provided free concerts to over 2,125 adults with life-challenging disabilities and their valiant staff.
“I would like to cite the inaccessibility of most of our clients to be able to have the money to get to a musical concert. You provide that accessibility and more. As you and I know, the benefits of music to a person is multi-leveled, profound and numerous…The social, emotional, self-esteem and self-awareness skills become heightened and the looks on their faces, the calmness that follows, the focus and attention skills working harder, and so many other benefits occur each and every time!”

Concerts for Members of the Disabled Community
Since 2012, Black Cedar has performed concerts for the ARC of Alameda County, an organization that serves adults with developmental disabilities. The clients presented one of their own paintings to Black Cedar at as a token of their gratitude in April 2012.
